Clear with some scattered clouds
It's turning out to be the sunny day the weather forecast predicted.
We are receiving light winds and are in need of some accumulation of snow in the valley and towards the bottom lifts of the mountain. I heard the groomers out on the mountain until late last night so they have worked until the wee-hours to provide us with some groomed slopes as much as possible. We are expecting more snow towards the middle of the week so we will be keeping our fingers crossed for it.
Yesterday, turned out to be quite slushy and icy so the grooming was much needed. Snow will be getting beat through out the day with it softening up quite a bit toward the end of the day again. This being said, try to make it out there early and get some nice runs.
The sun is shining quite strong as well today so make sure you wear sunscreen because goggle lines are not very popular outside of the Hakuba area.
Yesterday had a few snow showers but was mostly fine through the afternoon and temps remained below freezing at all levels keeping the snow in good condition. Last night saw further snowfalls with up to 20cm of fresh snow on the upper mountain. This morning had a few snow showers continuing but currently it has mostly cleared and there is plenty of sunshine between scattered clouds. It will be a great day to head up the peak and enjoy the views before riding down through the fresh powder. A weak low pressure system will move through the southern tip of Hokkaido tonight which should see snowfalls increase again overnight into tomorrow. Beyond that it will start to get warmer and we will see freeze/thaw conditions on the lower mountain for the remainder of the week with little snowfall forecast. So today and tomorrow will offer the best conditions for awhile so make sure you get out there and enjoy them!
Saturday gave us some fine weather and today has fair too with a mix of mostly clouds with patches of light blue hazy skies at times. Generally just cloudy though. Those mild temperatures continue with a high of around +4 degrees earlier this afternoon.
Good news is that we can expect some snow to be falling tomorrow and for it to be considerably colder (as well as windier by the looks of things). The resorts and people visiting them would all be most pleased to get a new cover of snow out there.
Nighta tonight is at the following resorts in Yuzawa: Naeba Iwappara
In Minamiuonuma just to the north, nighta at: Ishiuchi Maruyama Centleisure Maiko Joetsu Kokusai
Fine day yesterday but today is much more cloudy with thick grey cloud cover in the skies. No snow and little wind with the temperature dipping down further since yesterday (started off around -5 degrees but it is currently -2). It should be keeping colder this evening and we have a decent chance of snow tonight and into tomorrow morning. Doesn't look like we can expect heavy snow by any means, but a cover can be expected and then also later on Tuesday. Tomorrow is currently forecast to be light snow/cloud.
The following resort plans to be open for nighta tonight: Ichinose Family Yakebitaiyama
After the fine sun and spring like conditions of yesterday, today has been much more cloudy. It is currently +1 degree in the village, with cloudy skies and fog up top so fairly low visibility up there.
Everyone will be happy to hear that the forecast has us down for some snow overnight and temperatures drop.... with Kagura expecting around 10cm. It would be a help to cover up the spring-like conditions we have been seeing of late. Fairly strong winds are also forecast and so we'll have to keep an eye on those - hopefully won't have much of an affect on the resort operations. Read more ...

Partly cloud, mostly sunny.
No new snow overnight, but it was a beautiful sunny day here in Furano. Hardly any wind, and temps stayed just below freezing.
