Fine and sunny
The last Yuzawa Now report was back in July. That seems a long time ago now, and a lot seems to have happened.
First of all there was the Fuji Rock Festival up at Naeba, and then we had the usual hot summer in Yuzawa. Here in Yuzawa of course it is not as hot as the city, and certainly much more refreshing if you climb up higher... but it gets pretty hot all the same.
We actually enjoyed some cooler weather later in September, but last week the temperatures cranked up again and we had an unseasonably hot first part of October.
The (very) good news is that the last few days it has cooled down considerably, though the sun is still shining, and there is talk of 'heavy snow' this winter. A pinch of salt may well be advised when listening to these forecasts/tales, but personally I like to hear them!
For now though, hopefully we can enjoy a lovely, cool and beautiful autumn before winter comes to visit. There's still a good 6 weeks before the early-to-open Kagura resort can open up, so a while to go yet.
We'll try to post updates to Yuzawa Now weekly now in the run up to winter.
