Clear blue skies
Good morning from Yuzawa.
I was 'down' with a bad case of hay fever yesterday, and so didn't get out... but I'm pretty sure I did hear rain later in the day yesterday.
It was definitely keeping on the colder side of things yesterday though.
This morning there isn't a cloud in the sky and it is a beautiful clear-sky start to the day. It should be a fine day to be out on the mountain (especially if you don't worry about hay fever!!)
Today will be warmer as well, with a high temperature of around 17C forecast for later on.
* Kandatsu Kogen, GALA Yuzawa and Kagura remain open every day. * Naeba is currently closed but will re-open on weekends and over Golden Week. * Further details below. * Yuzawa Now reports will continue to be posted daily until 6th May.

Clear and sunny
Good morning from Nozawa.
A beautiful morning in the region and the sun is going to warm things up a little more today.
Until Friday we are now seeing just the Gondola and two top Yamabiko lifts operating. But you can still ski back down to base area via the Rinkan course.
As you can see from the images below, snow cover still really good up top. And it is always interesting to see how the snow disappears from the base areas. I'll be posting an image from Hikage every day so you can keen an eye on that.

Clear and sunny, some cloud
Good morning from Niseko and... hurray!
I have more fresh snow to report. 7cm of it, in fact.
And what's more, the sun is out and it we are enjoying mostly clear blue skies with just a few friendly-looking clouds hanging around.
It is a lovely morning and definitely should be fun out there with a high temp of around 7C forecast for later on in the day.
I think I am going to have to celebrate with an extra slice of toast with plum jam... once I get back from enjoying some early tracks. Can't resist this morning.
The forecast seems to be showing some rain tomorrow, possibly heavy and windy too.

Almost totally clear
Good morning from Hakuba.
Well, the last few days has been a very nice surprise with all that fresh snow and suddenly improved conditions. Snow conditions in the morning in particularly were really nice although visibility wasn't good and there was some wind up there too. Less good in the afternoon but still we are approaching mid April and so any and all fresh snow is very welcome.
In terms of snowfall, the Hakuba Happo-one resort have stated that they were on the receiving end of a full 100cm of fresh snowfall over the last few days. That's very impressive.
On to this morning and we have clearer skies. Mostly clear skies actually with hardly any cloud around and none above that beautiful mountain backdrop. It will be warmer too today and temperatures will probably rise to mid-teens in the village.
It should be a really fun morning.
Rain is expected tomorrow and maybe heavy at times along with the chance of wind too...
The four ski resorts that remain open all plan to remain at least part open until Sunday 6th May.
Planned ski resort operations on Tuesday 10th April 2018:
We are checking the below information every morning, but please note that resort operations are beyond our control (obviously!) and are totally subject to change!
- Grat quad - Alpen quad - Riesen quad - Usagidaira pair (* open only on weekends/holidays) - Nakiyama Number 3 triple - Gondola - Panorama pair - Kokusai Number 3 pair (* open only on weekends/holidays) - Kurobishi Number 2 quad - Kurobishi Number 3 pair
