The sun is out on this picture-perfect morning. Just a few wispy clouds to be found but for the most part blue skies and the sun warming things up... not enough to completely clear the roads though, and lets hope that stays that way. The next few days though are going to continue to be relatively mild and perhaps even rising to above zero tomorrow. It's going to be borderline we get some rain or not tomorrow by the looks of things. After that we can expect colder temperatures to return as we get into next week.

Personally if I were coming this weekend, I'd choose Sunday over Saturday. I have been trying to get more concrete news about lift plans for the weekend but the resorts seem reluctant to share plans right now unfortunately. I would say that we can perhaps expect some more lifts to be moving for the weekend but without a special dump of new snow things will likely remain limited. Still, there's of course lots of fun to be had out there this early season, lets just hope nature co-operates!

Resort areas currently at least part open:

Sun Valley - 1 lift
Mammoth - 1 lift
Ichinose Family - 2 lifts
Ichinose Diamond - 1 lift
Yakebitaiyama - 3 lift
Okushiga Kogen - 2 lifts
Kumanoyu - 2 lifts
Yokoteyama - 4 lifts

Official resort snow depths as of Friday 14th December 2012 AM:

Yokoteyama:

Shibutoge:
100cm
Kumanoyu:

Mammoth:
