A bit of snow overnight. Not enough to turn thing back into a powder paradise but the slopes will feel a little softer today. Currently partly cloudy with a few snow showers about but a bit of sun coming through as well.
Plenty of snow expected over the coming week though so may as well enjoy the little sun whilst is lasts.

Avalanche Information:

Annupuri peak 6am:-9℃, WNW9.6m/s. Annupuri 800m: -5.5℃, W7.3m/s. Variable snow condition all around the mountain: from rugged wind-scuffed or hard wind-pack surface in higher altitude and sun-affected crusty surface in lower slopes. Some flakes fell overnight and slightly covered the surface in some slopes, however a westerly wind picked up during the night and blew the new snow leeward and formed some patches of snowdrifts in east facing face. Thin surface slab slide is to be considered in typical avalanche terrains. But also beware of slip-drops on steep hard surface. Old tracks are not fully recovered and snowblocks fallen from trees are lurking underneath a thin layer of soft snow. Overall condition is not quite suitable for pleasant riding. Although it will depend on the chair lift operation, all gates are scheduled to open this morning. Please follow the ski patrol’s instructions. All areas outside the gates are uncontrolled and unsupervised backcountry area. Having the gates open does not mean in any sense that it is safe to go out. It is each individual’s responsibility to know where to go, how to come back and what is dangerous when venturing out.
