Freeze thaw conditions are occurring at the moment. This long period of warm clear days and cool nights is causing a bit of a melt down. Up high the snow pack is compacting but lower down it is definatly starting to melt. Around the village nearly all roads are clear!

The light precipitation forecast for yesterday arrived in the early evening. There would have been a light dusting of snow up high but there was light drizzle in the village.

Today things will remain pretty much the same as the past few days. Generally light winds and mostly clear skies. However in the early eveing we may see the signs of the approaching southerly front. It should bring some snow tonight but tomorrrow it looks like it will rain across the mountain with the freezing level expected to rise to above 2000m. However by Monday night the freezing level should fall and stay cold for Tuesday and Wednesday bringing some moderate falls of snow. There will be strong winds tomorrow and poor visibility.

Today will be spring like conditions for much of the mountain. A bit icy lower down early but will soon become slushy. Up high expect tracked compacted powder.
