Not much to report. The fine weather continues. Great if you like the sun and a goggle tan but no so good if you're after deep powder. Some reasonable snow may still be found off the peak but most other areas are completely tracked out or sun affected. Down low it's Spring like conditions. Some snow is expected in the early hours of tomorrow morning and then a bigger system should start moving through Sunday night with snow expected most days next week.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 400
Bottom - 200

Niseko Village:
Top - 390
Bottom - 225

Annupuri:
Top - 310
Bottom - 250

Avalanche Information:

All gates are scheduled to open this morning, peak gates 2 & 3 at 9:30. Please follow the ski patrol's instructions. Annupuri peak 6am: -7 ℃, SE3.5m / s. Annupuri 800m: -4 ℃, SW3.8m / s. The southwesterly wind has been persisting around 10m / s in high altitude since yesterday. There is no new snowfall and the temperature is relatively high. The snow-pack is settling and consolidating. Due to intermitting gusts until yesterday morning, the surface in high altitude is in a variable condition, from wind-packed hard surface, rugged wind-ripples to thin wind-drift soft slabs. Some south facing slopes are crusty due to sun effect and the tracks have frozen. Overall tricky condition in the out of bounds areas. Remain in controllable speed and be careful not to hit trees. The temperature is forecasted to rise again today. Beware of the changing snow condition especially in south facing valleys where the heat remains trapped in.
