The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

As yesterday, there's quite a lot of fog around this morning. Here's hoping we don't get the wind and eventually the rain that we got last night again today!

We shouldn't as the forecast is actually for a day of sun, so perhaps it will clear up. Later on tomorrow there's still some rain/possibly snow higher up on the forecast and it still looks set to be colder than it has been.

Some lifts are resting for the season now including the following:

Grand Hirafu - Ace Number 1, Ace Number 4, King Number 1, King Number 2 Quad
Niseko Village - Morino Chair
Niseko Annupuri - Jumbo Number 3, Family Pair

Niseko Avalanche Report:

Niseko base 6am: +3C, no snowfall, overcast. Moiwa peak: no data. Annpuri peak 1308m: NW12.1m/s, 0.7C. Coastal data: cape Benkei W 4m/s, cape Kamui: SSW 10m/s, 2.2m waves, 1010hPa. Annpuri resort 1000m snowpack 370cm. Hirafu resort 1000m 6C, no snowfall, light rain at night.

Spring slide hazard is rising due to continuing high temperature. A mid-scale slide has occurred at 900m Backbowl and reached the bottom of the valley. Day before yesterday, a slide occurred under Hirafu center 4 lift’s post no 5 & 6, 80m width, 150m long and 200cm thick. Caution is required at cliff areas, under lift lines and side banks. Avalanches are natural phenomenon and won’t become an accident as long as nobody is involved. Large-scale spring avalanches are to be expected in Backbowl and Osawa’s1100m slopes with large snowdrifts deposit. These slides have occurred in the past, they run for a long distance in high-speed. Riding the bottom of the valleys is dangerous. Lower Higashi-one and Mikaeri sawa are equally hazardous. The mountain is shifting to Spring, however the weather is variable and wind remains strong up high. Peak gates will open from the morning. Listen to the ski patrol’s advice before stepping out of the gates. Have a nice weekend.
