And a good morning to you on this first day of the Golden Week holiday period. Yey!

And what a lovely start it is as well.

The sun is out and there's lots of blue sky up there, just a bit of white cloud and some cloud shadows in places. Temperatures expected to rise to around 12C during the day today.

We're expecting a bit of rain during the day tomorrow.

Niseko Grand Hirafu remains open as it has been. Snow in lower areas continues to get thinner on the ground but there's still good snow cover higher up.

I had to telephone Niseko Annupuri to get the latest course information from over there. The courses open remain as per last week and you can still ski/board back to base... just about. That lower course part is getting very narrow now and may not last for much longer. (Let's information, Annupuri!)

Niseko Village are operating their Niseko Gondola from today for the Golden Week period. The Gondola is operating but the ski courses at Niseko Village are not available - you can take the Gondola up and then walk over to the top area of Niseko Grand Hirafu and ski/board in that area.

A lift ticket that is valid on all ski lifts that are open over Golden Week is available. It costs 3,800 yen for adults and 3,100 yen for children.
