Another low pressure system moved over the region today and although at first it was snowing the passage of a warm front brought very mild air in it's wake. Temperatures increased through the morning up to about 4 degrees at village level and the precipitation progressed from snow and eventually to rain. The rain though hasn't been too heavy or sustained so damage is minimal. The warm front was accompanied by strong winds and most upper lifts were put on hold restricted those brave enough to be on the mountain to the lower slopes.
As the low moves further to the east the winds will turn more northerly overnight and we can expect snow to move back over the region. Another big system is expected to approach us on Wednesday with very strong winds and blizzard conditions on Thursday and Friday.
