The weather today has been a bit of a carbon copy of yesterday except with a bit less snow overnight. Quite a bit of sun early on but this afternoon has seen snow showers moving through. This should repeat itself again tonight and tomorrow. From Monday though things should fine up and temperatures will increase. Stable and mild weather then looks set to continue through much of next week as high pressure ridges out of Asia over Japan.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 410
Bottom - 200

Niseko Village:
Top - 390
Bottom - 190

Annupuri:
Top - 410
Bottom - 190

Avalanche Information:

Annupuri 6am: -6℃ at the base, -9.9℃ and NNW2.1m/s at the peak. Coastal data: NNW4m/sat Benkei cape, 0.5m waves at Kamui cape. The atmospheric pressure gradient is shelving around Niseko and the weather is calm. Mt. Annupuri is blanketed with a thin layer of fresh snow, the wind remained calm and no snowdrift development can be observed. Possibilities of avalanches from deeper layers or from the ground level is rising, especially in leeward steep slopes around 1000m. Better not stop in valley bottoms of the Backbowl, Osawa, Higashi-One and west-face in order to minimize the chances of accidents to happen. The opening/closing of the gates will be managed by the ski patrol from now on. Please respect their judgment and the Niseko Rules. Refer to their advices at the gates before stepping out of resort boundaries. The Niseko Avalanche Institute will not provide the avalanche information anymore. Be safe and enjoy spring conditions.
