Things did fine up yesterday and it remained mostly fine overnight but this morning has seen light to moderate snowfalls move back across the region. These should continue through much of the day but it should fine up again later tonight. Currently they are forecasting sun all tomorrow so it should be a great Spring day to enjoy the recent fresh snow and explore the whole mountain. If it's really clear I very much recommend climbing the peak for the views. You can ski back down beside the route up if you're not up to hitting the bowls. Only about a 20 minute walk that affords you views right along the Niseko Mountain Range right back to the coast near Iwanai and of course across to Mt Youtei. If it's especially clear you can even see down to the Pacific Ocean in the far distance.
So the next couple of days are still expected to remain fine with snow returning on Friday hopefully setting things up for a good weekend.

Avalanche Information:
(Information as of this morning)

Niseko Avalanche Info No.98

Moiwa base 6am: -5℃, no wind and snowing.
Coastal data: WSW10m/s at Benkei cape, WSW8m/s, 1.3m waves and 1010hPa at Kamui cape.
Annupuri peak 6am: SW10.2m/s. Hirafu patrol report 6:30am: SW15m/s, -9℃ and poor visibility.
Yesterday’s snowdrifts are now rounding and stable.
Current snowfall is typical pre-Low snowfall (called “Wakame”) that could potentially become the next trigger layer.
Today’s snow is generally stable and the avalanche hazard is moderate.
Peak gates are scheduled to open at 10:30. Follow the ski patrol’s instructions.
Slopes with a thin layer of fresh snow is good, but catches the edges where snowdrifts are deep.
Some “Kosa” (yellow dust) spots are partially frozen.
Cornices have largely developed yesterday, they’re hard but easily collapsible. Falling cornices can induce a large avalanche (’99, fatal accident in Higashi-One), be extra careful especially in Weiss face of Higashi-One.
Full depth avalanche hazard is also rising in the Backbowl and Osawa. Better not ride the valley bottoms even if there’s already a track there, avalanches runs through the gully bottoms in high speed. If bottoms are avoided, fatal accidents could be avoided.
The mountains are never “safe”.
Enjoy the powder and have a nice day.
