No snowfall this morning to report from Niseko.

It's just a cloudy-overcast kind of start to the day here, with foggy conditions holding up most of the top lifts apparently. Gates are scheduled to open again though today.

A calm morning with not much of a wind.

Fresh snowfall isn't far off of course and it should be snowing from today through until Saturday and hopefully a decent amount of fresh coming overnight, so I'm looking forward to bringing you news of that tomorrow morning.

For the moment take care out there, know where you're going and have a fun day.

Niseko Avalanche Report

Niseko base 6am: -5C, no snowfall and calm. Moiwa 800m: calm, -7C, no snowfall. Annupuri 1000m snowpack 230cm. Hirafu 1000m: mild wind, -7C, no snowfall. Coastal data: Benkei cape SSE2m/s, Kamui cape SSW8m/s, 1020hPa, 0.6m waves.

A calm morning without wind or snowfall. About 2000 people stepped out of the peak gates yesterday, but not a single accident has been reported. Hard to believe it, it’s almost a miracle.

According to observations and snowfall transitions, the general avalanche risk is low today. Gates will open from the morning. There is no 100% safety in the mountain, but most accidents can be avoided with modest and respectful attitude towards the mountain.

A storm is forecasted to pick up tonight, make sure to be back in time.
