Sorry about the late report but sometimes the best way to bring you an accurate report of conditions is to get up on the mountain!
Yesterday after a brief period of reasonably heavy snow in the evening it mostly fined up. So with little new snow to cover yesterdays tracks and the mountain being fairly tracked out I decided to spend the day over at Niseko Moiwa. Ended up being a great choice with only a handful of people over there skiing the off-piste. So easily found fresh tracks in up to hip deep powder all day long. On some lower western facing aspects there was a little sun crust from the previous day but the bowl accessed from Gate 6 was all good.
Light snow fell for most of the day and got a little heavier around lunch time but there's not been much additional accumulation.
Tomorrow will remain mostly fine and then on Wednesday we can expect it to get quite mild ahead of the next snow bearing system. Some rain or certainly wet snow/sleet can be expected at village level at first as the system approaches. Colder air should move in Wednesday night with plenty more snow to see out the rest of the week.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Avalanche Information:

Niseko Avalanche Info No.33

Moiwa base 6am: -8℃, light overnight snowfall.
Coastal data: 11m/s WNW at Benkei cape, 9m/s W, 1.2m waves and 1022hp at Kamui cape.
Annupuri peak wind: stagnating around 12 m/s westerly, predicted to calm down at noon.
No notable weak layer has been observed during snow pit evaluations and the accumulation is stable.
Avalanche risk is low.
Peak gates will open at 9:30am.
The whole mountain is tracked out with a thin blanket of fresh snow on top.
Do not seek fresh lines in strictly off limits areas.
Don’t ski too far down towards Ambetsu river in the west of Moiwa, there’s no way out but a waterfall waiting at the end.
The educational program will be performed in Mizuno no sawa.
On-piste condition is fantastic.
Beware of over-speed, lost of control and hitting trees.
Seek for ski patrol’s advice at the gates.
Enjoy your day.
