Hello and good morning and after that beautiful day yesterday there's a lot more cloud around early on.

It's pretty calm and rather mild, +1C here at my Hirafu base according to my trusty thremometer (who much prefers it to be colder).

There's not much else to report this morning really. All resorts should be open as normal and all gates expected to open.

Clear, sunny and mild weather conditions are forecast for the next few days as well... it's probably going to be next week before a possible return to winter-like conditions.

Anyway we can't do anything about that can we, so it's best to get out there and enjoy what we have. Which is what I plan to do now! See you tomorrow...

Niseko Avalanche Report

Niseko base 6am: -3C, no new snowfall in the past 12 hours. Moiwa 800m: SE5m/s, no new snow, minor snowdrift development, -7C. Annupuri 1000m: snowpack 320cm, Hirafu 1000m: S5m/s, no new snowfall, -5C. Annupuri peak 1308m SSE10m/s, -9.1C, no new snowfall. Benkei Cape: SE9m/s, Kamui Cape SE4m/s, pressure 1014hPa, 0.8m waves.

No new snowfall and according to observations the general avalanche risk is low. All gates are expected to be open. Please listen to the patrols advice before passing through the gates. Avalanches are only 1 of many dangers on the mountain. Please take care and be aware of cracks, falling, loosing control on old tracks and hitting a tree and getting lost.

The Niseko avalanche risk is determined daily by observation of the snowfall transition, especially the slab development and checking large areas of snowpack layers with snowcat. The is never 100% safety on the mountain. In Niseko, to help try and avoid accidents, we put a lot of effort into avalanche and mountain safety. You can see us daily at the various gates. Everyone is free to ride off the course, however some Niseko based groups feel they have the right to disrespect the local community and not follow the rules, also causing trouble on other nearby mountains. Do not think we are easy going and will turn a blind eye. We will not accept your behavior.

This information is for all mountain users, please follow the rules, dont duck ropes and have a safe day.
