Last night was mostly clear and cold with no new snowfall. Today there is increasing high cloud with some lower cloud forming around the peaks and winds are expected to increase from the south throughout the day. A warm front is expected to cross the region later tonight bring with it mild air and rainfall. The rain is expected to continue into tomorrow and then turn to snow at all levels later in the day as the low moves through to the east bringing a return to cooler northerlies. The snowfalls should continue into Sunday and then a mostly fine a mild week lies ahead.

Avalanche danger has subsided and all gates should open today. The best snow will be found up high. With rapidly warming temperatures there is increasing danger of full thickness avalanches especially in the Annupuri bowls. These are particularly devastating and include rocks, trees and large blocks of ice. You don't want to get caught in one of these so if riding in these areas it is best not ride out in the bottom of the gully.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 350cm
Bottom - 160cm

Niseko Village:
Top - 390cm
Bottom - 170cm

Annupuri:
Top - 440cm
Bottom - 195cm
