Snow started yesterday afternoon and came through in successive waves. At times there were blizzard like conditions with lots of blowing snow as well and there's been considerable drifting around the mountain. The wind affected snow is not quite as light and soft as we have had over the last week but in sheltered areas within the trees there should still be some quality riding.
The snow is expected to continue on and off throughout the day and through tomorrow. Beyond that snow is still forecast for everyday in the outlook.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 310
Bottom - 160

Niseko Village:
Top - 240
Bottom - 170

Top - 215
Bottom - 160

Avalanche Information:

Intermissive moderate storm has continued since yesterday afternoon and made cornices and snowdrifts to slowly develop, resulting in an 80cm soft slab forming in wind affected steep slopes around 800-1100m.
Considerable avalanche hazard is present in Annupuri Osawa, Mikaeri sawa and Higashi-One.
Do not traverse across steep open slopes and knolls. Avoid riding/resting in the gully bottoms. The snow in the treeruns is a little heavy but in good condition.
Depending on the lift operations, the gates are scheduled to open after 10am. However, peak gates and Mizuno-no-Sawa area are yet to open. Follow the ski-patrol’s instructions.
Considering this season’s snowfall transition, high risk of a major scale avalanche persist in Haru no taki 750m area.
Never enter strictly off limits areas. Out of bounds riding is tolerated under the condition that the Niseko Rules are respected.
Mountain base 6am: -9℃, 25cm of partly broken crystal snow.
Coastal data: NW14m/s at Benkei cape, 1.6m waves at Kamui cape.
