It is a warm morning.

Yesterday afternoon we unfortunately could not avoid rain which continued into the evening. I'm not sure when it stopped overnight (I was sleeping!), but there are wet conditions this morning along with temperatures that didn't really drop and might even rise to around 8 degrees in town later on. As you might expect, no new snowfall to report.

Forecasts show mixed weather over the next few days but it's generally cloud with a bit of sun and maybe some rain and generally the milder conditions will prevail. There might be a small amount of snow especially higher up early tomorrow morning but apart from that there really isn't much snow potential through into early next week.

I was just looking over some of the other Now reports on SnowJapan to see how things are going in other regions. Seems that Hokkaido is doing better than other regions with a distinct lack of snow in many regions of Honshu. While Niseko is the place I am of course most interested in, I'm still happy to see huge amounts of snow falling on all the Japanese mountains. One day I might even make it down to some more places.

A few lifts this morning running slower due to gusty winds up there so I hear but generally resort operations this morning seem to be the same.

The skiable connection between Niseko Grand Hirafu, Niseko Village and Niseko Annupuri remains closed for the moment.
