As predicted, 10cm of snow fell overnight here at Naeba. As of now, it is not snowing but it is going to start soon and continue throughout the day according to the forecast and it is forecasted to continue until the evening tomorrow.

Again, the wind is quite weak today, however visibility is good as I can see almost all the way up the mountain. The temperature is a bit chilly, expecting to hit a top of -8 with a windchill of -14 degrees. Again, the evening session is going to favour the cold blooded types, with a temperature top of -12 coupled with a windchill of -23.

At Kagura, while its not raining men its certainly continuing to come down with snow with another 40cm reported to have fallen overnight. (Again, slightly different from offical figures). The forecast is for it to continue snowing throughout the day there.

Some of the lifts at Kagura are not running early this morning due to the masses of snow and wind conditions. The No1 quad lift at Kagura is moving - from Mitsumta Ropeway up until the quad things are open and from the Tashiro Ropeway up until the No1 quad at Tashiro as well.... but the Kagura/Tashiro connecting course is not open due to the strong winds and avalanche danger'.

The snowy spell looks set to clear up this coming week with sun forecast from Wednesday to Friday.

At Naeba, the Men's Slalom course is closed because of ice cracks.

At Kagura, only the Forestry Expert Course is closed.
