From yesterday afternoon till now it has been bucketing down with snow here at Naeba. When I was out skiing yesterday, I was getting a fine layer of snow on myself everytime I caught a lift. I would say at least 20cm of snow fell last night in Naeba. As for Kagura, our friends report that 50cm of snow has magically appeared since last night. While the Kagura resort is reporting a whopping 50-70cm of snow since yesterday, the offical figures for snow depth are not changing! But that new snow has arrived and ready to play in.

Visibilty is not the best at the moment, as its a little misty on the mountain. I would say I could see about 30-40m ahead roughly. It's expected to continue snowing today before easing back overnight. Tomorrow is predicted to snow heavily during the evening.

Temperature wise, its going to hit a top of -7 degrees and a windchill of -15. However, if you go skiing tonight be sure to rug up. I was out yesterday night and my hands were feeling like ice. Tonight is expected to be similar with a windchill of -23.

There are a few lift closures today (see below for more details). The Men's Slalom course is closed because of ice cracks.

Strong winds at Kagura are affecting operations over there but if the winds calm down - which they are forecast to do later in the day - things will hopefully get back to normal. At the moment it is just the Mitsumata Ropeway to the No1 pair lift and Tashiro Ropeway to No1 quad lift operating.

In terms of weather, it is predicted to continue snowing throughout the day though we may see calmer and clearer conditions tomorrow.

Official Snow Depths:

Naeba:
230cm

Kagura:
350cm
