Hello and welcome back to Naeba Now.

Here were are in mid November, and after a somewhat wet summer period things have got colder quite quickly this year, and I must say things are looking and feeling rather good for the run up to the coming snow season. Are we in for a bumper season? We shall see.

Naeba itself this season plans to open from Saturday 9th December, so we are just over three weeks away from that opening.

Before then, Kagura is planning on starting the season next Thursday, 23rd November. Just one week away! Some seasons they only can manage to open a small part of the upper part with complicated bus services taking folk up there, while others things get off to a good start right from the beginning.

This season we have already seen snowfall up on the mountains and all areas of Kagura are looking covered in white as I write this.

And it's actually snowing lightly down to base of Naeba early this morning... it's not sticking just yet, but there's a thin dusting of snow on the ski runs down to base.

The forecast is good too, with snow planned even down to Yuzawa town level Saturday into Sunday.

Here's to a very snowy season.
