It's the waiting game right now; something is going to be falling from the sky - wet or white?

The wind is from the south, which says the former; it doesn't feel that warm, which says the latter (although Suginohara's report for the morning, with +4°, has me rethinking this).

If you're here, and you're wondering about what's about to hit, look to the south at Mt. Kurohime. If it's wearing a cap of clouds sliding over towards us, rain is really likely. Another is to look at the Coast Guard's website for the coast (http://www6.kaiho.mlit.go.jp/09kanku/niigata/) and look at the wind directions. If you click right now it's all south winds; before the snow comes, those will shift to the north and west.

Will we really get some good, deep snow over the next few days? Pretty interesting to watch and see what comes along.
