It's currently foggy thanks to slightly higher temperatures than yesterday, but conditions should improve gradually through the day. Around 10 to 20 centimeters of new snow fell overnight so there's a dusting of powder on the slopes this morning, but 4º is today's forecast high temperature, so enjoy the powder while it lasts. Visibility is moderately good despite the fog. Sunny skies are forecast tomorrow, with no overnight precipitation, so slope conditions will likely deteriorate a bit.

Bear in mind that resorts measure their snow depths at their higher elevations and assume that guests will know that there's less snow at the base. APA Pine Valley, for example, lists 140 cm, but the resort is located at a lower elevation than the others here so don't be too surprised if you find patches of ground poking through lower on the mountain there. It is March, after all. :)

Roads in the area are wet, but not icy.

Especially on the bunny slopes, busloads of students on holiday are caroming about so remember to don your body armor before heading out. Enjoy!

Official resort snow depths:

Suginohara:
110cm
Ikenotaira:
135cm
Akakan:
210cm
Akakura Onsen:
165cm
Madarao:
170cm
Seki Onsen:
270cm
