After a string of sunny days, we're back to cold and gray — it's more like the end of February than early April today. The forecast even includes snow for later today, so we are definitely seeing a long season this year.

Three areas remain open; get our, patronize them and say thanks for keeping the slopes open. As bad as things are, Japan is still a great place to ski, and (very biased in our reporting here), Myoko is one of the most beautiful, natural places to be out on the snow. ;)

Open Ski Resorts

Akakan (Akakura Kanko):
Sky Cable gondola, Hotel No. 3.

Seki Onsen:
Open until May 8. Earthquake charity event on April 3.

No. 3 and 5 lifts open. Open until 4/3.
