We had a little break in the snowfall overnight, with a starry night and a nice sunrise; not pink today, though—maybe something in line with the old rhyme about red in the morning, sailors take warning. So far it's snowed only very lightly, although more heavy snow is forecast for late in the day.

The snow is great, although it was cold yesterday afternoon and into this morning. It meant some fantastic snow way up high today; the snowpack looks very strong and stable offpiste, with some good but solid powder. Myoko, full-bodied powder, the way we like it (none of that wimpy champagne stuff; we take it straight and strong here). Macho nonsense aside, it is really good, quite stable, but be sure to watch for sluffs and terrain traps if you venture off (even from the lifts). We've been lucky, but you do see people sliding in the worst possible places, often with someone equally as mindless skiing above them, just ready to set off the sluff that buries those below.

End of rant. Get out and have fun. This is some of the best snow anywhere in the world right now (a pro video/magazine team just passed through Myoko, and they couldn't stop raving).
