Winter has returned for another bow. It snowed off and on all afternoon yesterday and we received 10 cm of fresh powder overnight. Enjoy it while it lasts. The temperature is hovering around zero at the base and it's colder up above so the powder should last for a little while at least, despite the blue skies. Visibility is excellent on this slightly breezy morning.

The roads were icy early on today, but the sun has now dried them out. Kids are off school for spring vacation from tomorrow so also enjoy the uncrowded pistes while you can.

Ikenotaira had planned to close April 5, but has now announced that it will shut down for the season on March 29. Discounts are available on lift passes until then. Akakura Onsen started offering discounts yesterday, as did Akakan.

The forecast for the week ahead has changed from snow showers to light to moderate snow from Wednesday through Friday so maybe there's some life left in the season yet. It's supposed to remain sunny for the rest of today. Enjoy!

Official resort snow depths:

Suginohara:
75cm
Ikenotaira:
80cm
Akakan:
155cm (at top)
Akakura Onsen:
105cm
Madarao:
115cm
Seki Onsen:
200cm
