A lot of times on this page I have expressed my preference for pounding, deep, keep-the-weaklings-out heavy snowfall. Today, though is just great. After a few days of rain and gloom, it is perfectly blue agin in Myoko (just in time for the weekend), and cold enough overnight so there is some good snow, until it gets too warm and mushy - but that's OK; that's what beer is for.

Happy to see all the ski areas are open in full even though we are officially now in spring.

They tell me people stop coming out of the city once the cherry blossoms are out; I say come up here and ski and later on enjoy the Takada cherry blossoms (just up the road), which are still a while off!
