There are days when you don't mind being stuck to the desk during the winter in Myoko; this is not one of them, and your reporter wants to be out in the fun. But he's not (gender has now been revealed....).

It's a nice morning here after yet another very good snowfall overnight—enough that the people who dug the 30, 40 or however many centimeters of really light snow that fell through the afternoon and evening out once last night had to get up and do it again today. There was a lot of wind last night, though, resulting in some fantastic natural snow sculptures and cornices on the lee sides of house, cars and the odd outdoor vending machine (I love finding snow-covered soda machines out in the middle of nowhere).

It might be a little wind-packed out off the courses today, but probably pretty good where there was shelter from the north wind. It's not exactly a bluebird day, but the sun has peeked out from time to time, alternating with occasional very light snowfall. Just the kind of day to get out for a soft-snow course cruise, or to stir up some powder.... Which, again, not all of us can do right now (but, OK, I'll be climbing Saturday and Sunday—I'll let you know the current backcountry conditions when I come down!).
