Happy Vernal Equinox Day! This morning's warm temperatures, if not the rain, are an auspicious start to spring. Perhaps not such good news as far as the long weekend and the end of the ski season go, although there's actually snow in the forecast in the upcoming week.

The visitors getting off the tour buses don't seem to mind the sloppy conditions - they're glad to get just a little bit more time in on the snow. It's foggy and calm this morning and temperatures around the area are well above zero, if not in the teens like yesterday. Area roads are wet, naturally.

The weather folks say that it's supposed to clear up after noon and stay sunny through tomorrow as a high pressure system moves through from the west. The rain is supposed to return Sunday afternoon and snow showers are in the forecast Monday through Wednesday.

Akakan and Seki have yet to update today.

Official resort snow depths:

Suginohara:
80cm
Ikenotaira:

Akakan:
185cm (at top)
Akakura Onsen:

Madarao:

Seki Onsen:
250cm
