Not much snow to report this morning from Hakuba, just a few cm up top and dustings lower. There was lots of cloud hanging around yesterday with periods of sunshine here and there.

This morning there's still cloud but more blue sky to be seen and the sun making an early appearance just now. They may well clear up, but local forecasts still have snow showers at times for today so we'll just have to see how things go during the day. Not that we have much choice on the matter of course!

Bit windy up top too with lifts at some resorts affected at the start of the day.

OK so we'd all like to have a nice new significant dump of snow with things being a bit hard and icy now, so when's it coming.

Well, we are expecting snow to be falling over the weekend and probably into Monday. I will of course reveal the results in my morning reports.

Early next week forecasts are giving us a good chance of some clear skies and possibly a spell of milder temperatures as well.

Monday is a national holiday in Japan, so it's a 3-day weekend. It should be a fun weekend, but will certainly be on the busy side!
