Good morning from Hakuba.

There was lots of cloud around yesterday - depending on where you chose to ride, at times limited visibility. There wasn't much wind about and generally lots of folk out enjoying themselves.

The snow was definitely on the heavy side of things but there was a decent amount of fresh to be found.

This morning it's a mix of clouds, blue sky and sunshine. There was lots of 'gas' and fog higher up earlier on but that is quickly clearing. It might even turn out to be a very fine day.

There's no new snow to report overnight but a friend of mine has just called me and told me of nice and soft snow conditions after getting the first gondola up at 47 this morning. I'm jealous. Talking of Hakuba 47, I believe that from yesterday part of the upper Kamoshika area of the Tree Riding Zone also opened up. (Their report this morning says that just the area by Route 2 of Kamoshika is closed).

There's a chance of more snowfall overnight tonight though after that we may well need to wait until the end of the week for the chance of anything more significant.

As always I'll keep you updated.
