Good morning from Hakuba.

No new snowfall to report from this area, other than a sprinkling of snow by Hakuba 47.

Clouds predominant this morning over the village and mountains, though once again areas of blue sky on show. It is snowing though at higher elevations it seems. A mixed bag for sure.

A temperature of -3C right now with a high of around +2 later on in the day forecast.

Let's take a look at the forecast. Unfortunately, there seems to be more chance of rain than snow over the weekend, perhaps even higher up on the mountains as well with the freezing level rising over 2000m. We might get balmy temperatures closing in on double digits Friday-Saturday. Before then clearer conditions are likely.

So it looks like we'll have to make do with what we have out there for the weekend. Forecasts have been known to be wrong, let's hope that's the case here...
