Good morning from Hakuba.

After the wet start to the day yesterday, we eventually got some clearer skies in the late afternoon but there was still cloud around and a bit of a wind blowing around too.

Things are much clearer and calmer this morning. There is some high thin cloud around, but it is mostly clear blue skies and sunshine.

You can still ski or board back to base at Hakuba 47 (or 'up and down from the bottom' as the resort is saying - I like that!) using Route 1.

The lower Toomi course at Goryu is still managing to keep open. Make sure you can ski or board in an almost straight line if you use that... it's narrow!

And the upper slopes at Happo-one and Tsugaike Kogen remain open.

Not bad at all for early May!

Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday are national holidays in Japan and fine, warm weather is forecast.

Expect quite a few like minded folk making it out to enjoy the last turns of the season.
