Morning from Hakuba.

Fairly strong winds yesterday with snow falling on the mountains.

And this morning here are the fresh snowfall headlines, as reported by the ski resorts:

Hakuba Goryu: 2-5cm
Hakuba 47: 5cm (they were reporting 10cm on the upper slopes yesterday. Unclear.)
Hakuba Happo-one: 2cm at top of the Gondola
Hakuba Cortina: 25-30cm

Check out the numbers from Cortina. I'm sure there will be more than a few people heading out there after seeing what they are reporting this morning. Looks like the resorts to the north of the valley got the best deliveries.

It's quite windy this morning too in upper areas, not so down in the village, and so some higher lifts may be operating at reduced speeds. I can see that the Gondola and top lifts at Happo-one are on hold at the start of the day as well due to the wind. Fingers crossed that will ease off and the lifts can get moving.

There is lots of cloud around this morning - light snow falling earlier on but right now mostly just cloudy with some blue sky appearing in places. Feels like it might be clearing up...

We're still seeing potential heavy snow on the forecast for tonight and tomorrow though.

A nice deep fresh layer of snow is always welcome of course, so bring it on.
