As expected some fantastic mountain views yesterday. Some clouds hanging around the mountain peaks - depending on where you where at any point in the day you’ll have got a different view of the mountain backdrop. I was lucky up at Hakuba Goryu yesterday around lunchtime. However many times you go up there, on a day like today the view is never the same and never gets old.

The snow was great too.

Even better views this morning. We were treated to an amazing sunrise early on if you were up that early, and for the rest of the day the sun will be out with glorious blue skies.

It got very cold overnight and we have started the day with no clouds over the area. We expect a sunny day and the temperature to rise to around +3 later on this afternoon. As of early morning though it's still extremely cold.

The forecasts tell us that we can expect a return to snowfall around Tuesday - or maybe even overnight tonight? - though it's probably more light showers from time to time rather than heavy snow.

Getting busier by the day now in the run up to New Year! Early starts recommended.
