It is currently snowing very lightly in Hakuba, but really not enough to make any accummulation at the moment. It is hovering around zero at the base and about -2 C at the top, so the snow should be a little more and will likely even stick around at higher elevations.

From about noon yesterday it began to rain lightly and it continued throughout the day. Definitely will see more melting out there and compaction of the snowpack. Light snow is expected to continue until Saturday.

Conditions on the hill will be soft and slushy at the bottoms, harder and firmer conditions above 1500m and groomed conditions on green slopes. Still good coverage top to bottom and virtually nobody on the hills so it is all to yourself!

The Hakuba Minekata resort - one of the smaller resort areas in the valley - has now closed for the season.
