The temperature has risen over the past day and with that it brought what we all dread in a winter season and that's rain.

However, all is not lost as we woke up to slightly lower temperatures and light snow fall. In the valley the snow is extremely wet and heavy, so the slopes will have varied conditions today, expect slush with some icy patches at lower elevations and higher up the conditions will be icy in the morning softening up throughout the day.

Snow is forecast into the afternoon, clearing up later this evening leaving some cloud cover, this means the temperature will not drop too drastically. You can expect temperatures to not drop further than -5 degrees, and by Wednesday it's forecast to not be dropping below 0. Winds today are gentle, especially in comparison to yesterday's strong wind gusts, they will pick up a little this afternoon and by tomorrow there will be quite strong winds coming from the South-West.

The slopes will be quieter today and so today you won't need to worry about the crowds, however, the things to watch out for are varying visibility, changing snow conditions, and staying dry. Take regular breaks to allow yourself to dry off throughout the day, and if you find yourself caught in cloud and don't feel confident continuing down the mountain then traverse slowing to the side of the slope, the boundaries are all marked with orange rope, and wait there until visibility improves.
