Conditions cleared up good and fast yesterday and by lunchtime it was clear blue skies though clouds did come back later on in the afternoon but for the most part the sun was out. A fine day, and good to enjoy that new snow up top too.

Temps dipped to -5 overnight but this morning but will be rising today - it's already about 7 degrees at base. Not much of a wind.

But the headline has to be those lovely clear blue skies again over Hakuba and Otari.

Should be fairly fine weather over the weekend on the resorts, and hopefully this weekend the wind will stay away. Fingers crossed for that.

Over the last week or so lots of the snow down around village has quickly dried up and gone and on some lower slopes some patches of earth can now be seen here and there.... always happens quickly when it happens and kind of sad to see of course. But them there be big mountains and there's plenty of snow up of course still.
