The sun is shining and it looks like it is going to be a great day for skiing in Hakuba today. A fairly high cloud bank should burn off by lunch time and make for some nice scenic views of the peaks and into the valley.

No new snow to report today, but cool temperatures overnight hardened up the snow and will make the first turns of the day fast and icy. Conditions should soften up by midday and the courses will be quite empty as it is mid week skiing. Be careful of unmarked man made and natural hazards out on the hills as there are still bare patches, exposed rocks and trees. Also make sure you know the way down is ok for skiing as many resorts are not open right to the bottom yet and you need to download on the gondola.

The forecast is calling for rain tonight in the valley, so hopefully that equate to snow up top, then later on Wed, Thurs and Friday, we are expecting more real snow to arrive. It's needed right now so all fingers crossed!
