The skies have opened up and blessed Furano with buckets and buckets of snow.

Down in the village, 25cm of new snow have fallen since yesterday evening, and it's still coming down. The period from around midnight to three a.m. saw a brief transition to rain, but it has been snowing banshees ever since. Snowfall totals are even higher up on the mountain where they saw nothing but pure white the whole time.

Expect the snow to linger throughout the lunchtime hours at a light to moderate rate. We should see a few more centimeters out of this storm before it's all over, but on the whole it looks like things have quieted down at last.

Snow Conditions:

Top - Fresh, Fluffy Powder - 70cm
Bottom - Fresh, Fluffy Powder - 40cm

3400m is the longest straight shot run currently open on the mountain.

Tomorrow should be more cold and more snow.

It looks like winter is here to stay.
