Throughout the morning we saw fairly steady light snow finally beginning to taper off around noon, with the occasional snow shower dotting the early afternoon hours. I spent the day up on the slopes, and while we've been seeing a lot of powder here in Furano for the last few days, the further down the mountain you go, the more likely you are to run into some icy, gritty snow, most likely left over from Wednesday's short-lived warmup. Up on the top half of the mountain, everything was beautiful, with ample deep powder on most of the main runs. Needless to say, the lesser-used side runs were absolutely gorgeous, with what seemed to be at least 20cm of the fluffy white stuff practically untouched for as far as the eye could see. The temperature is great, around -3 degrees, with a bit of wind blowing the snow around on the edges of the Link Course connecting the two sides of the resort. You can expect slightly cooler temperatures and spotty snow showers for any Night Skiing you might be inclined to do. All in all, despite some icy patches down towards the bottom, it is not a bad day to be up on the mountain.
