A lighy dusting overnight of a few centimeters was unexpected but very welcome. It is a beautiful morning this morning, the ski resort is glowing orange in the morning sun. Today will be the last clear day for a while as we are ecpecting a larger storm later tonight and through tomorrow.

Yesterday Kuma Otoshi was epic, and well worth the wait for ski patrol to open. It is definately the steepest run on the mountain here, and yesterday it was thigh deep, steep, and untouched. As it was only open at 11am and then again at 2pm, those who were lucky to time their gondola runs would have had 2 of the best runs of their travels. Oh Kuma, thank you!

Expect excellent groomers today, with fluffy powder still available off-piste, although it is a little cut up, but still so light that it is easy ski.

The decent snowfall we have been waiting for is due to arrive tonight, and expect that strong winds tomorrow may put Furano gondolas on wind hold.

Thursday night is a free performance of Kashibetsu, the local theatre performance by the Furano theatre group. This is an excellent production.
