08/09 Season opening planned for 12th December 2008

Pine Ridge Resorts Kandatsu is barely 10 minutes away from the centre of Yuzawa
town, though the resort has the feel of a mountain hideaway.  Set in a natural bowl area, the resort attracts a lot of snow and for some reason, the blue skies always tend to hang over Kandatsu and the views on offer on a clear day are stunning!

The resort offers a long, wide gelende for beginner skiers and boarders.  For the more advanced riders, there is also a wide variety of challenging runs to enjoy.

One of the big attractions of Kandatsu resort is its extensive snow park, with a wide variety of jumps, rails and boxes. In addition, there are very challenging mogul courses, and the steepest gradient slope in the region - the "Orion" slope is as steep as 45 degrees in places.

With a combination of the wide main piste, mogul runs and snow park, a wide range of skiers and boarders can enjoy the resort and it's facilities.

The rental shop stocks K2, Burton, Salomon, Atomic, Rossignol, Elan - big brands and choice allowing you to change as much as you want during your rental time.

After an energetic day on the slopes, a good soak in our baths and spa makes for a perfect end to the day.  On the 5th Floor of the main building you can find 6 different kinds of baths, jacuzzis and saunas.

Day-time: 700 yen (1pm-6pm)
Night-time: 3,000 yen (10pm-8pm, sleeping areas available)

Please note:
Nighttime is available on Saturdays and holidays between 22nd December 2007 and 23rd March 2008.  The (public) large room sleeping areas are available until 7:30am.  (Private rooms are available, please ask for details).

Pine Ridge Resorts Kandatsu is very easy to get to.  The resort is located just 1km from the Yuzawa I.C. on the Kanetsu Expressway, and less than 10 minutes by free shuttle bus from Echigo Yuzawa Station.

By Train

From Tokyo station, take the Joestu shinkansen direct to Echigo Yuzawa Station.   The journey takes around 70-80 minutes, depending on the train.

From Niigata station, take the Joetsu Shinkansen direct to Echiho Yuzawa Station.  The journey takes around 45 minutes, depending on the train.

The resort runs a free shuttle bus taking you from the Station to the resort:

The bus journey takes approximately 7 minutes, but may vary due to weather conditions.

The yellow background in the above tables signifies buses that run only on Saturdays, holidays and during the New Year period.

By Car

Pine Ridge Resorts Kandatsu is just 1km from the Yuzawa I.C. of the Kanetsu Expressway.

From Tokyo, take the Kanetsu Expressway north from Nerima I.C.  The journey direct to Yuzawa I.C. is 167km and usually takes less than 2 hours.  From Yuzawa I.C. turn left onto Route 17 and you will soon see Kandatsu on the left after about 1km.

From Niigata, take the Kanetsu Expressway south from Niigata Nishi I.C.  The journey direct to Yuzawa I.C. is 131km and usually takes about 90 minutes.  From Yuzawa I.C. turn left onto Route 17 and you will soon see Kandatsu on the left after about 1km.

There is parking space for about 2000 cars, opening from 5:30am-11pm (holidays 10pm-6pm)
