Okushiga Kogen is located in the north east corner of the Shiga Kogen
region of ski resorts in Nagano Prefecture. With 100% natural snow
- often offering some of the best conditions anywhere - Okushiga Kogen is a
skiers-only hill and has a long season usually opening in early December
through until Golden Week in early May.

The resort is popular with both families
and also technical skiers, offering a good selection of courses
including a 3km downhill course.
The Shiga Kogen region consists
of 21 "ski resorts" - most of which are connected (the ones that
are not are accessible via shuttle bus) - and one lift pass
covers the whole mountain area. |

Okushiga Kogen is connected (at the top) to the Yakebitaiyama resort
which in turn is connected to the Ichinose region of Shiga Kogen. To get an idea

Okushiga Kogen is connected to Yakebitaiyama at the top of Number 4
gelende (the top part of this map). On the left hand side of the
map you can see the Gondola (marked "G") and at the bottom of the right
hand side is the Okushiga Kogen Hotel (marked "H").

Lift tickets can be bought at the Restaurant Okushiga 1st
Floor or the Gondola Station. If you are buying an "all mountain"
ticket, a 1000 yen (refundable) deposit will be required.

Please note:
The "1.5 Days" ticket is valid either from 12 noon on
day 1 until closing on day 2, or for all day on day 1 until 1pm on the
day 2.
Childrens Ski Day is on the third Sunday of each month
when elementary school kids can ski for free at Okushiga Kogen.
This season those dates are as follows: 21st December, 18th January,
15th February, 15th March, 19th April.
The free (to guests with a lift ticket) Shiga Kogen
Shuttle Bus will operate from 1st December until 6th May this season.
Okushiga Kogen has parking space for 900 vehicles parking - all free.
There are 600 spaces near the Gondola and 300 spaces at Okushiga Kogen
Hotel.

Free rest/changing rooms, coin lockers and vending machines as well as
the ticket offices can be found at the Gondola station and Restaurant
Okushiga. These facilities are open from 7am.
Learn to ski or brush up your skiing skills at Okushiga Kogen resort
with the Sugiyama Ski & Snowboard School - based at Okushiga Kogen.
The Ski School can be found on the 2nd Floor of Okushiga Restaurant.
