New multi-million dollar Snowsports Centre opens at Hanazono, Niseko Japan

Nihon Harmony Resorts KK (NHR) is proud to announce the opening of the first building of its envisioned masterplanned development for Hanazono, Niseko Japan, the new Hanazono 308 Snowsports Centre. It is history in the making and provides a glimpse of NHR’s dramatic broader development strategy for the Hanazono area, which is now beginning to unfold.

Niseko is widely regarded as the snowiest resort on the globe and now ranks as one of the finest ski destinations in the world. Niseko is certainly Japan’s most popular winter mecca for international guests, with large and broad target markets converging from every continent on earth. Finally, Niseko’s perfect snow conditions now have a facility to match – the Hanazono 308 Snowsports Centre.

The inspiration for the design of Hanazono 308 is the soaring peak of Mount Niseko-Annupuri, at 1,308 metres above sea level. The two sail like structures forming the roof (or peak) of Hanazono 308 unquestionably conjure up images of the majestic mountains of Niseko, while the extensive use of natural materials throughout the facility ensures an immediate affinity with the wonderful natural environment of Hanazono.

Hanazono 308 is in fact situated at 308 metres above sea level, or exactly 1,000 metres below the peak of Mount Niseko-Annupuri. That means there is exactly 1,000 vertical metres of non-stop pure, perfect powder, from the very top of Mount Niseko-Annupuri to the doorstep of Hanazono 308. It is an adventure that can only be found on the most coveted side of Niseko mountain – the Hanazono side.

The development of Hanazono 308 also heralds the introduction of a suite of new product initiatives and services for all levels of alpine sporting and snow enthusiasts at Hanazono this winter:

Two brand new covered Magic Carpets – the first ones to be installed in Japan.
Opening of the Niseko International Snowsports School (NISS) at Hanazono, incorporating a brand new state-of-the-art NISS Kid’s Snowsports School facility.
Brand new retail and snowsports equipment hire centre.
New activities at the Hanazono Adventure Park:
  • Sledding/tobogganing and snow-tubing, all on groomed and safe dedicated areas. No walking back up the hill – ride the Magic Carpets! Great fun for people of all ages.

  • Snowmobiling – ride your own snowmobile through the snowy landscape and forest of Hanazono.

  • Snow-rafting – a pure adrenaline rush. Take the ride of your life in a rubber raft towed behind a snowmobile.

  • Snow-shoeing – guided nature walks with one of our expert locals.

The new 250 seat Hanazono 308 restaurant. Our famous Kani Rahmen (crab noodles) remains, while a new menu and new standards of service make Hanazono 308 the only place to eat this winter.
Hanazono lifts will open early at 8.30am this season – guests who start their skiing day at Hanazono are guaranteed to get first tracks at the famous Strawberry Fields of Hanazono.
  Free overnight ski/snowboard valet service.
Completely re-profiled Silver Dream beginner’s course. Hanazono now has the best and most comprehensive beginners and children’s terrain and learning facilities in Niseko.

A new free shuttle service will operate between Hirafu and Hanazono all day, every day, approximately every 20 minutes or so. For the first time, a shuttle service will now operate in upper Hirafu Village as well as middle and lower Hirafu Village.

Better value with new facilities, more excitement and an abundance of activities. Come and join us at Hanazono this season.

Hanazono – where nature inspires.
