COMPANY NAME: Evergreen Outdoor Center
Nestled right in the heart of the Northern Japanese Alps, the Evergreen Outdoor Center in Hakuba is in an ideal area for year-round outdoor recreation. Founded in 2001, Evergreen has become an established and well-known outdoor tour operator in the Hakuba region that caters to both local and international clientele. Evergreen's friendly and qualified staff of outdoor guides and instructors absolutely love the outdoors and would love to show you first hand, the thrills, wonders and beauty of this unique region. With a variety of activities and programmes for all skill levels, there is something for everyone to try.
Location: Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture
Type of employment available: Ski/Snowboard Instructor, Winter Guide, Professional Backcountry Ski Guide, Summer Outdoor Guide, Summer Kids Camp Counselors
Job details: Ski and snowboard instruction on Happo, Tsugaike and other fields within the Hakuba area. Children's groups, snowshoe tours and other winter activities.  Backcountry Ski Guide (Ski touring in mellow to big terrain).

Summer guiding in a multiple of outdoor adventures (including canoe, MTB, canyoning, climbing, hiking)

Qualifications required: Minimum of Level I Ski Instruction Certificate from New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Europe, America or Japan. Potential applicants should have First Aid and CPR certificates and have a valid work visa for Japan.
UIAGM certified ski guide or equivalent.

Summer - must be trained and or have in-depth experience in one or more of our summer activities; First Aid training; Valid international drivers license and work visa for Japan.

Summer Camp Counselors must be good with children and have extensive experience in the outdoors.
Period of work: Summer: July 1st ~ Sept. 20, 2006
December 2006 through April 2007
Japanese language ability requirements: English speaker, some Japanese an asset
Salary: 8000 yen per day
Other details:

Subsidized accommodation, ski passes and lunches provided.  Many other perks for Evergreen Staff.  Office positions also available.  Advanced computer skills a definite must for office stafff and an asset for guides.
