In the small village
the visitor can find a number of public natural hot spring onsen
facilities. Nozawa maintains a traditional onsen village
atmosphere with small winding steep pathways, traditional
restaurants, stores and souvenir shops - it is a good place to
visit if you want to enjoy some 'cultural' aspects of Japan as
well as the snowsports.
The village is located to the east of Nagano
City and it the journey from Nagano takes about one hour.
There is no train station in Nozawa with the closest being
Togari Nozawa Onsen Station, but many people choose to take
the bus from Nagano Station to Nozawa. By car, the resort
is 20 minutes or so away from the nearest exit of the
Joshinetsu Expressway. |
