To the east of Minakami is
Katashina village, which also borders with Tochigi
Prefecture.
To the north
of Minakami, on the other side of the Tanigawadake mountain
range, is Yuzawa town in Niigata Prefecture. While Minakami
might not get the attention of it’s northerly Niigata neighbour,
there is still a good choice of snow resort areas to enjoy and
good snow conditions.
The highest resort is the
spectacularly located Tanigawadake Tenjindaira, a popular
starting point for backcountry adventure. |
