Furano is a good place to go and experience some great Japanese hospitality and culture as well as the quality snow that Hokkaido is famous for. The ski area is located very close to Furano town and the locals are heavily involved in welcoming visitors to the area. There is a well organised tourism association that puts on regular events throughout the winter, most of which are free to attend.

The mountain has a good variety of terrain spread over 25kms of runs, most of which are groomed to perfection with a few un-groomed black runs. Not as busy as furano, Furano is quickly becoming a popular choice for skiers and snowboarders looking for something else.
