How to get to the
Furano region:

By Car |
Furano is accessible by two main roads - Route 237
and Route 38. The closest expressway I.C. is
Takikawa I.C. which is about a 45-minute drive away
from Furano. In good weather conditions, expect the
journey from Sapporo to take 2.5 to 3 hours. (The
journey from Asahikawa takes about an hour). |

| By train |
Furano has an indirect train service from Sapporo
and New Chitose Airport with all trains requiring
a transfer at Takikawa Station. During the winter
season, there is also a direct Ski Express Train from
Sapporo, and can also be accessed from the local Airport
train. There are also a number of direct trains from
Asahikawa. |

By Bus |
There is a regular bus between Sapporo and Furano.
The "Lavender Express" bus has connections from Biei,
Asahikawa Airport, and JR Asahikawa Station. During the
winter season, there is also a shuttle bus directly from
New Chitose Airport. |
